Course Food & Pharma (30 EC)

This course Food & Pharma aims at health effects of nutrition and pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceuticals as well as food can be very beneficial for the health status of individuals, but also more generally for the population. A special diet including fresh food and vegetables has been implicated in a more quick recovery of cancer patients who have been treated with chemotherapeutics.   
The Food & Pharma course consists of two elective profiles: Chemistry and Life Sciences. These electives consist of two types of research assignments; one being more chemical in nature, where the focus will be on the use of chemical analyses techniques and the synthesis of chemical substances;  the other being more Biological in nature, where the emphasis will be on techniques like molecular cloning, ELISA, Flow cytometry. The biological projects focus on assay development and validation or evaluation.
