This is the course page for the Continued Education Course 1: "Removing Obstacles on the Way to Implement 3R Methods in Toxicology", which will be  held during the 51st Eurotox meeting in Porto on Sunday 13th of September 2015.

Chairs: Herman Koëter, Belgium and Marc Teunis, The Netherlands.

Speakers: Cyrille Krul, The Netherlands; Sonja Beken, Belgium; Ian Kimber, United Kingdom; Erwin Roggen, Denmark.

Aim of the course
The course aims at providing a platform to discuss ways to implement promising 3R Methods in a toxicology context. This may entail safety and efficacy testing by industry and cro’s but also by regulatory authorities and academia. In order to generate a more complete overview of the factors and stakeholders involved in the implementation of 3R models within this context we have invited speakers representing the different stakeholder groups involved e.g. academic institutions, regulatory bodies and industry. After a morning session with lectures from these different speakers we will have a break-out session with the participants to discuss the  remaining problems and, more importantly, the potential  solutions to the problems that have been identified.
